la-la land 「非現実的な世界」「夢の国カリフォルニア」 [単語・表現]
- It was a school out of the past, out of the pages of an illustrated children's book--'Like living in la-la land,' said Jane, 'not like the real world at all.'
(People Who Eat Darkness by Richard Lloyd Parry)
- [mass noun] North American informal
1 Los Angeles or Hollywood, especially with regard to the film and television industry:
the magazine’s special Hollywood issue has sent la-la land into a state of apoplexy
1.1 A fanciful state or dreamworld:
he looks like he’s in la-la land the whole time
(Oxford Dictionaries)
- Slang. 1. a state of being out of touch with reality.
2. (usually initial capital letters) Los Angeles.
1980-85; reduplication of L.A., abbreviation of Los Angeles
(Dictionary.com, based on the Random House Dictionary)
- be/live in la-la land
to think that things that are completely impossible might happen, rather than understanding how things really are
(Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary)
