a flight of stairs 「(階の間の)ひと続きの階段」 [注意したい単語・意外な意味]

a flight of stairs

- They now lived in a 270-square-foot apartment on the fourth floor with no elevator. To get there, one had to climb an untidy, narrow flight of stairs, cluttered with neighbors' garbage pails on the landings.
(The Secret Piano by Zhu Xiao-Mei)

- The researchers tested if the same positive health benefits would occur by climbing stairs; they had participants who weren't regular exercisers test their hypothesis. The participants exercised three times per week for six weeks, climbing three flights of stairs -- 60 steps -- three times per day.
("Short intervals of climbing stairs found to boost health" ConsumerAffairs Jan. 21, 2019)

- A series of steps between floors or levels.
She has to come up four flights of stairs to her apartment.
Victoria collapsed and fell down the last few steps of an internal flight of stairs on Monday morning.
(Oxford Dictionaries)

- A flight of steps or stairs is a set of steps or stairs that lead from one level to another without changing direction.

(Collins English Dictionary)

- a set of stairs going from one level to another
The restrooms are two flights up.
flight of stairs/steps: A flight of stone steps leads down to the courtyard.
(Macmillan Dictionary)

a flight of stairs

- A staircase is a set of stairs inside a building.
They walked down the staircase together.
(COBUILD Advanced English Dictionary)

- a flight of stairs with its framework, banisters, etc., or a series of such flights.
The camera dollied backward along the length of the tower's staircase while simultaneously its lens zoomed forward.
(Dictionary.com)

- a flight of stairs with the supporting framework, casing, and balusters
Photographs taken of the wreck during expeditions allowed the company RMS Titanic Inc. to recreate digital images of the grand staircase that featured in James Cameron’s 1997 film Titanic.
(Merriam-Webster.com)
