etc. (et cetera), ad lib (ad libitum), ad hoc, a.m. (ante meridiem), p.m. (post meridiem), A.D. (anno Domini, B.C.
- CV, curriculum vitae (a summary of your academic and work history, résumé
- vice versa (with the order or meaning reversed; conversely 反対に;逆もまた同じ)
- versus (as the alternative to or in contrast with; against ~に対して)
- status quo (the existing condition or state of affairs 現状)
- de facto (something generally accepted or agreed to without any formal decision in its favor
- persona non grata (a person who is not welcome; a diplomat who is unacceptable to the government to which he is sent
- modus operandi (pl. modi operandi) (a particular way or method of doing something 仕事などのやり方; a criminal's characteristic way of committing a crime 犯罪の手口)
- modus vivendi (pl. modi vivendi) (manner of living; way of life; lifestyle 生活様式; a compromise between adversaries that allows them to get along temporarily 妥協)
- quid pro quo (something done in exchange: something given or done in exchange for something else
- habeas corpus (a writ ordering a prisoner to be brought before a judge 身柄提出令状、被拘禁者の不当拘禁を防ぐための人身保護令状)
- primus inter pares (first among equals: the representative or leader of a group of equals)
- non sequitur (unwarranted conclusion: a conclusion that does not follow from its premises
- sub rosa (In secret; privately or confidentially. "under the rose")
